It's blooming Pink in Bolton!!
Charity does begin at home but today a lot of people decided to leave their homes today and travel to Bolton FGBC to join in the Pink Day event. Although it was primarily for the ladies a lot of men did in fact turn up and helped to make the afternoon a success. 36 ladies played triples on the green and afterwards 'gorged' themselves on scones, jam and cream followed by Pink coloured cakes.
The day was organised by Viv Tomlinson, County administrator, in an effort, once again, to raise money for her chosen Charity the Breast Cancer campaign. She was not disappointed as the response was absolutely magnificent. With the efforts of the ladies who made the cakes and the number of people who donated raffle prizes and other items for sale, together with the generosity of everybody who attended on the day the total amount raised that one day was
This means that this year, with other donations, sales of the Breast cancer pin and sales of cards the total amount that has been raised for the Breast Cancer Campaign is now!!!!
£1,000.

At the end of this season Stephen Hemsley will be stepping down at the Middleton/Muras team Manager and Neil Macfarlane will be stepping down as the Alsop team manger leaving these posts vacant for the 2011 season.
Anyone who has an interest in these posts should make it known to the County Administrative Officer, Viv Tomlinson, no later than the first meeting after the County AGM which takes place in October 2010. The appointment of these posts is decided on by the Executive Committee themselves.
