Website Updates

There may be some time between players sending in their county results and them appearing on the County Website because your webmaster has just moved house and currently only has a limited internet connection and also because he is going on Holiday on Sunday 5th May.  So bear with me and I will get round to updating the website but it may take a couple of days longer than usual.

We have a new Aslop Cup Team Manager!

Robert (Bob) Stobie from Bolton FGBC has been selected as the new Manager for the Alsop Cup Team.  Bob approached the County Administrator and the County Executive have approved his appointment.  The County would like to wish Bob well with his endeavours and you too can show your support by nominating, if you haven't already done so, to represent the County for the coming season.

The annual curtain raiser to the new season is the Men v Ladies from the County.

Bowls Lancashire- Middleton Cup and Alsop Squads  

This is a message from David Lockhart Team Manager of Middleton Cup/Muras.  

I am in charge of compiling nomination lists for players to represent Lancashire in the Middleton Cup, Muras Trophy and Alsop Trophy. I have asked for all interested players to submit to me by 30 April 2013 a completed Nomination Sheet so that the teams can be selected.  

There are 3 dates when there are Middleton and Alsop matches scheduled, these dates being 1 June, 15 June and 6 July. For these dates realistically we will require 50 people to have nominated in order to field two teams of 24 plus reserves.  

As of now the number of nominations received for these dates ranges from 36-38 which is clearly well short of the required number!!  

If you have not yet nominated but wish to be considered for selection please submit your Nomination Form as soon as possible. If we do not receive sufficient interest, then clearly it will be impossible to field the relevant teams.  

REMEMBER LANCASHIRE IS YOUR COUNTY AND YOU SHOULD BE PROUD TO REPRESENT IT!!!

The season is about to start:-

• Men's County Nomination Sheets - if you want to represent the County then YOU have to fill one in. The Nomination Sheet can be downloaded HERE.  

• Ladies County Nomination Sheets - if you want to represent the County then append your name to the sheets which are displayed in your club

• County Shirts & Jackets - The season is fast approaching and there will be some people who need new shirts or jackets if they intend to represent the County in events like the Middleton Cup and Ladies Stella Logan.  Click HERE to see a message from Lynne Hemsley about obtaining new clothing.

• Championship Rules - The County Championship rules have been updated and can be viewed HERE. It is in your own interest to check them out.

• Contacts Update - Over 80 individuals have entered the County Championships this year yet only 17 people have updated their details in the Contacts area of the members area.  If you have changed you phone details recently you should update them in the Member area or your opponent may not be able to contact you!

If you don't know something or are unsure about anything relating to the county there ARE people you can speak to.
